For the longest time we didn't think we could get any coverage for our son's therapy. We noticed he started having problems around 2 years old. He was forgetting words he was previously saying. In addition, it was very difficult to have him say words we already heard him say.
We started approaching doctors about this shortly afterwords. Doctor's would not even speak to us about the situation. They kept saying he was to young to test. So, we looked around for someone or some people who would help. Luckily for us we found Easter Seals would provide free speech and occupational therapy for a child until he was 3. We started to see some progress. However, once he turned 3 and lost the extra help he started to go backwards. We had to start the process all over again and it looked like we were going to be denied. However, when we stressed the fact that he actually lost what he was saying. We have approval; at least for a few months until they re-diagnose.
